Securing Your Email Account

Getting your email hacked is one of the worst things that could happen online, so to avoid this, you should protect it by securing your information.

Here are few tips I learned from Heather Green who shares ways to secure you email account:

Choose a strong password. You should use phrase and not just a word, and include lower, upper case, numbers, and special characters.

Change passwords frequently. As much as possible, change it every three months because you never know when a hacker will attack.

Choose strong security measures. Use strong security questions for which only you know the answer. Also include a secure backup email in case you forget the password.

Use the two-step verification. If you’re using Gmail, it has a security called two-step verification wherein when you sign up, you must enter the code Google sends you via text or voice message. This ensures that any accounts set up in your name are actually owned by you.
